Sorry about Shriners, but that's great that she's such a great nurser! I guess

this is why people say they wish they could have grandbaby's first, lol!

Isabella & Shriners

We called Shriners today to get the appt with the doctor. He is gone fgor 2

weeks ! I was so upset, and they were suppose to call us back, and did not. So

I will be calling first thing tomorrow.

Isabella is going great ! She LOVES to nurse ! They were released this

afternoon, so they are all home together tonight. She is so sweet and we all

love

her sooooooo much ! I can't hardly keep my hands off of her. Boy it is GREAT

being a grandma !

DeeDee,

First of all, congratulations on the birth of your gorgeous grandaughter! Is

she a first grandchild for you?

I understand the urge to get Isabella's treatment going as quickly as possible,

but it is no tragedy or major setback to wait a few weeks. In fact, that way

she and her parents will have time to settle in, get to know each other and take

it easy a little bit before starting out with the casts. Chico's not too far

from Sacramento, but that's still a bit of a journey with a newborn (especially

one who might be cranky about her wet casts!). Plus, they'll get lots of time

to kiss those little feet before they're all bundled up in casts.

If you really do want to get started right away, you can always ask to be seen

by another doctor. My son has been treated by Dr Boakes (as well as Dr

Lerman). She is having tremendous success with the Ponseti method and is very

kind and caring (though always in a rush). I don't know that any of the other

doctors there are using the Ponseti method at this time. In any case, 2 weeks

is not by any stretch too long to wait to begin treatment.

We wish you much success! Please kiss that sweet little baby for us!

DeeDee,

Dr Boakes is another physician at the Shriner's in Sacramento (our son, now 2,

with beautiful feet, has been treated by her and by Dr Lerman). I don't know

that any of the other doctors there are using the Ponseti method.

Good luck. Please let us know how things go.
