I agree here that it's very important to do that full 23 hours a day. I'd

usually do it for a bath time if I remember right but that was a long time ago.

Re: P/M hours

Christee,

While those extra couple hours don't really seem like

they would matter, it is these first few months that

the feet have such a strong tendency to relapse, even

a few extra hours here and there CAN make the

difference. The ligaments and tissues are still very

malleable during this time and leaving them out of the

shoes can allow significant retraction of the stretch

in both. If you are having trouble watching the

clock you may want to try giving her the 1 hour free

at a set time each day and have a planned activity for

that time, maybe a bath one day, playing on the floor

the next, etc. Set a timer if you need a reminder,

but get those shoes back on her for the full 23 hours.

Christee, you've really done a great thing for Lilee

(way to go Mommy!) by taking the initiative to get her

to Iowa, I would hate to see that be for naught, if

she would relapse and have to do it all over again.

Best wishes! Keep up the good work!

I agree with here. I know it seems so easy to just let it go an extra

hour or two, but you need to stop as you are setting her up for relapse. Three

months will fly by and it will be less hours soon enough. A complex foot,

expecially, is prone to relapse, and you DO NOT want that to happen if you can

prevent it. Set a timer. You are not doing Lillee any favors by cutting

corners.

P/M hours

As you all may know. My daughter Lilee and I got back from Iowa about 3

weeks ago. We went to see Dr. Ponseti as our local Dr. in Oregon did

not completely/correctly fix her foot. She has A-Typical AKA Complex

Clubfoot. She has been out of her last cast (which was NOT the Tenotomy

cast, but 1 after that as the Dr. here did not fix her foot) which she

was in for 2 weeks. I know Dr. Ponseti sayd to keep their feet in the

P/M for 23hrs a day for the 1st 3 months. I am having a real hard time

with this! Not because she crys or anything. She has actually done

great with them. But just more so that 1 hr out of them is so short a

time. It just flys by and I dont realize it! Honestly, she is getting

about 20-22hrs a day in them. I know that the next time after the 3

months is 20hrs. So cant I just do 20hrs a day for 6 months? Has anyone

else done/expierenced this? What was the outcome?
