tight shoe buckles

Im still trying to fine tune putting on the mitchell fab the best

possible way. Ive read people suggesting to buckle them as tightly as

possible, but the other day one of the shoe buckles left a very deep

indentation on Sophie's foot. It looked painful, so since then Ive

been reluctant to buckle them super tight.

She wiggles out of them once in a while but for the most part they

stay on pretty well.

Any advice?

Zoe

p.s. what does p/m stand for?

I've been going through a similar thing with my 5 month old

daughter. She was slipping out of her shoes every night, so I

started buckling her shoes from the 7th hold to the 8th hole. She

fussed like she was in pain, so I loosened it to the 7th again. They

kept coming off. This went on for about a week. However, the strap

seems to have stretched now just enough that the 8th hole is not too

tight anymore and the shoes stay on. She has some marks on the top

of her foot, but no breakdown of the skin. It doesn't seem tender

either and she's no longer fussing about the shoes. From my

experience, I'd advise to make sure the heel is all the way down,

then strap them on tightly and lace them tightly. The straps will

stretch quickly. Also, try a different sock - everyone seems to like

the old navy and gap socks. I like those the best too.

Hi,

If it is any help, when Jasper was small I found that tightening the buckle

to a comfortable position (did not dig in) and then doing up the laces

firmly helped when I changed the laces around so that they started at the

ankles and tied up at the toes made the lacing MUCH firmer at the top where

he would want to wriggle out, I would find that relying on the laces was

good as you can hold the shoe around the little foot and lace it up snugly.

Also check whether there is any plastizoid or other ³pillow² of shaping in

the back of the shoe to hold the heel in and down little babies seem to

wriggle out easily without this (depending on the shoe model).
