Guest guest
FIrst off, THANK YOU to everyone who responded last week when I posted about Eli's shoes not staying on/rubbing. (He's 11 weeks old; we've followed the Ponseti treatment since birth. He just moved from casts to the DBB 1 week ago.) I camped out at the orthotist's office monday morning and got him a smaller size Markell shoe. He is MUCH happier, and the shoes stay on without any problems now. The only issue we're still having is sleep. He appears to be totally adjusted to the bar during his awake time ; he moves it in and out, up and down, all while smiling. But when it comes time to nap during the day, he can only sustain sleep for 30 min. tops (at a time). Then he'll cry until I come re-settle him. At night, he'll sleep for about 45 min. tops (maybe one stretch of 2-3 hours) and then cry until my husband or I goes in. This is weird because before the bar, he never did this. He was sleeping 6-8 hours straight at night, and his naps were 45 min-2 hours with *maybe* one interruption. More than anything, I am worried he's not getting enough quality sleep. This lack of sleep is starting to catch up wtih me - it has to be worse for him considering how much growing he's doing! I've tried the rolled up towel under his legs/feet (he kicks it away); i've tried him sleeping in a bouncy seat, a swing, a car seat...nothign seems to work. Any suggestions? Thank you!!
