Rich Murray: :

" Aspartame Disease " 1038 page expert magnum opus 7.5.1 rmforall

The text on p. 231-6 gives excerpts from 4 of over 50 of 1200

aspartame disease case reports that " anguished over having

presumed multiple sclerosis. "

My observations justify the conviction that no patient suspected of

having multiple sclerosis (MS) who consumes aspartame products

should have this diagnosis finalized until being observed many months

after abstaining from them.

Case VI-D-3:

A 28-year-old woman began consuming diet colas and numerous

aspartame products (including yogurt and chewing gum) shortly after

matriculating in medical school. She developed a number of health

problems that culminated in her dismissal. They included severe

headache, insomnia, forgetfulness, extreme fatigue, visual difficulty,

nausea, bloat, constipation, a gain of 24 pounds, loss of hair,

irregular menses, intense thirst, " asthma " , and voiding at least

four times at night. She then experienced numbness and tingling

in her hands and feet, as well as repeated tripping and falling.

A consultant neurologist made the diagnosis of " probable

multiple sclerosis " on the basis of her symptoms and hyperreflexia.

In desperation, the patient called a biochemistry teacher who had

been her mentor. He sent an article about aspartame disease

mimicking MS. She promptly accessed the Internet, and then

stopped all aspartame products. Dramatic improvement ensued.

After 19 months, she wrote, " I sleep regularly, am employed,

swim over one-half mile, no longer have imbalance problems,

am ovulating again, walk distances, can wear heels again, and no

longer have the frequent urgency to use the bathroom. "

I have received dozen of letters expressing gratitude from persons

with aspartame disease who had been misdiagnosed as having

multiple sclerosis. All experienced gratifying remissions after

abstaining from these products.

A 31-year-old woman had been diagnosed as having multiple

sclerosis for ten years. She suffered, " debilitating headaches,

severe muscle spasms, anxiety attacks, and loss of sensation,

memory, and nearly half the vision in my right eye before

quitting my 15-year addiction to diet cola. I was confined

to a wheelchair for 8 months. My doctor was amazed at the

difference in my health when I stopped aspartame. " [end quotes]
