Seems all of the docs have different opinions on it, I wanted to hear

what you all do.

Thanks

I have an occasional drink or a glass of wine. Doesn't seem to

bother me at all. It is only about once or twice a month when I go

out with the girls in the office and then I stop at two drinks. I

can definately feel it much faster than before. I am almost 6 months

post op. I had my first drink probably at 2 or 3 months post op.

, since my doc (Rabkin) has patients sign a statement that you will not

drink for a year after surgery, " and only minimal amounts thereafter, " no, I

have not yet had any alcohol and will keep the commitment I made. However, I

do crave an occasional glass of wine or martini, and will be glad when the

year is up. My liver biopsy showed no disease, and, while the catabolism we

go through is pretty harsh on the liver, if my liver enzymes are normal when

I have blood check-ups I'll be comfortable drinking alcohol occasionally

again in a year.

Keep in mind that alcohol is also a high-calorie, totally absorbed item, as

well.
