Guest guest
hi, I want to thank all of you for replying . I wear multi focal glasses and I know if they aren't in place,it can cause blurriness. I took them off and I felt that my eye was stuck on the side and wouldn't move. Then I started to see double . I closed ,opened, and rubbed the eye a few times and it finally went back to normal. It was very scary, but I know the answer of my doctor, come back when and if it happens again. My neurosarc started with floaters, but I was able to see, then after a few hours it completely covered my vision. I thought i was on a "trip" without taking anything! I was driving to visist a client and I saw wavy black oily spots, which is called floaters.I thought my hair was in my face and I kept trying to remove it until I realized it wasn't my hair.Fear set in and I drove tomy eye doc.She diagnosised me eye sarcoidosis.I use steroid eye drops and see a eye special often .It can cause blindness if untreated. I didn't start with the eye thingy but after seeing an eye doctor and getting new glasses I found I couldn't see out of my right eye. I called the eye doctor back and he said my God you were just in here.. I went to my neruo and he said it was a flair up. Gave me massive doses of prednisone along with something else. can't remember right now. After 3 days it cleared up and my vision was better than ever. That is my bout with the eyes. I do have a small cataract forming keeping watch on it. Jackie eye Hi,Can someone write me how sarc started in their eyes, what the symptoms were etc? He attributes effects to my right optic nerve to sarc; I see him again tomorrow for tests and evaluation to determine if there's been any change since my last visit in early June. The neuro opthalmologist attributes symptoms like these to neuro sarc: blurred vision (includes major episodes in which I am unable to see even large objects like my 42 inch tv clearly), reading problems like reading a line and the eyes jump one to 3 lines above and repeat the process over again. I've even had one episode where I'd look at the curtains at one point and my eyes would roll to the ceiling with no effort on my part and I couldn't control the activity. I've experience floaters for many years but there are many more and of larger sizes since sarc was diagnosed_spring of 2008. Like others I have dry eyes; treatment includes Retasis morning and night and regular drops two times in between. I'm not sure whether dry eyes and floaters are related to sarc. I'll clarify that tomorrow. How long did your episode last and what were the symptoms? Take care. _______________________________________________________________ > Show them the way! Guest guest
pOMY, USE THE ARTIFICIAL TEARS OFTEN. That will help. But also-- get this checked out, especially if you are light sensitive. Guest guest
Pomy, I've been asking the same thing. I just woke up one day about 3-4 weeks ago and my vision was 1/2 what it was the day before. Everything was a furry, fuzzy, blob. I went to the Opthalmologist, and all he could tell me was the eyes were ok, but "I was sick, so I didn't have the power to focus?". Then he tried to to give me a prescription for glasses twice the strength of my fairly new ones. I came home up'd my dose of prednisone (I don't recommend follow this action), prayed alot and in a few days my vision got better. You can hang a Florida opthamologist knowing what sarc is. My vision still isn't 100% but at least I'm driving legal now, and I don't have to wear a prescription pair and a 375 strength store pair to read my paperwork at work. Guys am I guessing right, did my sarc do this since it got better. Connie Subject: Re: eyeTo: Neurosarcoidosis Date: Monday, August 10, 2009, 8:57 AM Pomy, Mine started with blurry, almost like a cloud formation in my eye. I had spots and there ws a dull achy pain around my orbit. This was treated with dropsfor quite some time. I was away at a quilt retreat though, and all of a sudden, I had incredible pain in my eye. It wouldnt go away. I had to patch my eye and drive home, luckily I wasnt too far away. Scared me, but went away after a few hours of drops and motrin. What's going on with yours?? If you're having a problem and your'e not sure what's wrong, get to an ophthamologist right away. Vision is too important to wait.Let me know how you are. Guest guest
Probably not-- but it could have been that your blood sugars where high and that can cause a sudden decrease in vision-- I'm fighting that one daily. Dry eyes can also majorally effect vision, as the cornea is 90% water, and if the surface is dry, it's like looking into a still lake, or looking into the same spot on the same lake when the water is moving. The reflection will be distorted if the water isn't "calm." Hugs, Tracie To: Neurosarcoidosis Sent: Wednesday, August 12, 2009 7:31:15 PMSubject: Re: eye Pomy, I've been asking the same thing. Guest guest
I had something very similar to this. I had just gotten a new pair of glasses. I went home and my vision was worse. I called my eye dr. and told him what was going on. He just pushed it off on my being nuts. I went to the university of Wisconsin eye clinic, was examined and the neruo was called in. He took one look and said Sarc. Flare up. I was put on 3 days of prednisone (and something else can't remember) IV. My vision cleared after the 1st treatment and only got better after the others. I was then put on 40 mg of prednisone and reduced back down to my 5. Maybe the eye clinics of America should do some classes in Sarc. That is my 4 cents.
