Guest guest
My daughter has been seeing Dr. Hamilton at Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas for about a month now and we love him. I have been wanting to hook up with other local parents of children with club feet and would love to email with you. I have thought of starting a support group locally. I feel very alone in this. My daughter is five weeks old with bilateral club feet. Although I have no experience with other orthopedists, Dr. Hamilton appears to be practicing the Ponseti method as it is described and is careful, meticulous and very caring in his approach. I feel blessed to have found him to help our daughter! Please email me directly at csheltonhome@... and put Dr. Hinton Hamilton in the subject line so I won't think it is junkmail. I would love to compare our experiences. Carol Re: Dr. Hinton Hamilton Hi Nick, Sorry, I have never heard of Dr. Hamilton. What part of the country are you in? If you have any questions about treatment, you have certainly come to the right place. Welcome to the group and congrats on your new baby. nick_matula22 > wrote: Just curious if anyone is seeing Dr. Hamilton. My son is in his 5th cast, and things are looking good. Still might have to clip the achilles, but the foot is no longer turned inward, just stiff and pointed downward. I'm new, just happened to stumble upon this while surfing around. (left foot) I'll post some pics.
Guest guest
I think some folks here have had luck getting together local support groups in their cities. Try posting flyers around different places where mom's and babies might go and see it; maybe ask a friendly nurse-person at your clinic if she would hand out flyers to other cf parents she sees there with a date/time/place - then just go and see if anyone shows up. I'm sorry to hear you feel so alone, if I were near by I 'd come see you But since I can't all I can do is lend an ear and tell you one word of advice, just treat your kid like any other normal kid. CF doesn't have to make him different. s. Re: Dr. Hinton Hamilton Hi Nick, Sorry, I have never heard of Dr. Hamilton. What part of the country are you in? Guest guest
Hi Carol, I wish I were in Ft Worth. My brother and sister-in-law live there and love it. I'm in San . The funny thing is, is that my brother in Ft Worth is my twin and him and his wife are currently trying to get pregnant. I'm the first one in my family to have a child with clubfeet. The nearst connection is my grandmothers cousin had two boys with clubfeet. So, long story short it will be interesting to find out if my twin brother's children will be affected?!!? I'll keep you email and if that proves to be true I'll give them your information... I don't know anyone here in San either. Hang in there..
