B6 warning - not for everyone

If anyone else is taking their kid's supplements, be alert for signs of

toxicity. I would like to tell you what happened to me with regard to

B6, and maybe someone else won't be so dumb.

In October, I started taking just one capsule daily of my son's SNT with

P5P I liked it for helping me be less sluggish and more focused.

But a month and a half ago, I noticed a sharp pain in my right heel,

like there was a splinter of glass in it. It hurt to walk. In the next

two days it developed into numbness. I finally remembered reading that

nerve damage of the hands and feet can result from too much B6, so I

stopped taking the SNT, and over the course of a couple of weeks the

problem disappeared.

I missed having the focus and mental energy though, so I found a much

lower dose B-complex and this week started taking it. The next day the

tingling was back and it was in my hands as well as feet. And yes, I

have been supplementing with magnesium, but it doesn't seem to have

helped. So now I have to stop the B-complex too.

My son is very verbal, and when asked he doesn't report any such

symptoms, so apparently he needs the high-dose B6. (It certainly made a

big positive difference for him.) But obviously, it is not for everyone,

so be careful.

Best wishes-

I can related to this. I ran out of vitamins on vacation and

starting taking my son's SNT. That night I woke up with a major

anxiety attack. Same thing next night. Remembered listmates posting

about their children not sleeping & being hyper on SNT, so I stopped

taking it, and everything was fine again. Meanwhile, my son does

fine on SNT, but becomes hyper if he misses a day or two of it!
