Guest guest
Hello All- My daughter received her new brace today! I like the marketing " Ponseti " logo on her brace... We are so excited to be out of casts;0) Anyway, I wanted to ask parents out there about watching the heels in the brace. Her right one has always been the stronger foot of the two (as far as correction goes), but her left one is not all the way down. If I remember correctly, I believe one of you posted that the heel does not come down right away~ I think Ponseti himself had said this. Is this true? If so, how long does it take for the heel to come down. Should it drop down in a few days? I have the middle straps on tight. I just want to make sure I am doing it correctly. Let me know your thoughts. And any advice would be greatly appreciated...Thank you. Krishna
Guest guest
Krishna~ We also just started with the 's this past Friday. They are awesome! Maddie (5 1/2 months) had figured out how to get her right foot out of the Markell's no matter how tight we put them, so she was a little surprised/frustrated when she could not get her foot out of these sandles. Although, I do have to say, she found a way to get that right foot out of them once.... Dr. Herzenberg told us that the heel not being all the way down in the s is not un-common. Maddie's right heel is up a little. My understanding is that it could take a couple of weeks. BUT, I too would be interested in any thoughts or suggestions. I thought I remember someone posting about this once before. We had to add some extra holes in the straps to get them to fit tight enough... Did you have to add any? Guest guest
One thing to remember too, is that you don't have to push the heel all the way to the back of the shoe like a normal shoe. Just make sure the foot is flat -- eventually the foot should move to the back of the shoe on it's own while the foot is still flat. Even if the foot is a quarter inch forward inthe shoe, as long as the foot is flat, that's ok. fitted Gabe's shoes and this is what he told us while putting them on. That's the key -- make sure the foot is FLAT. New wrote: Hi, Krishna, It took longer than a few days for Lily's heel to drop all the way down in the shoes. I think it was at least a couple weeks. Enjoy the s (as much as you can " enjoy " an FAB). We love them. Kim kcmsge wrote: Hello All- My daughter received her new brace today! I like the marketing " Ponseti " logo on her brace...
