Guest guest
, Thank you for your warm welcome. This is still so new to me. I am not sure what all of the abreviations are - what is FAB? I too am so glad that I can finally take the shoes off alittle. Robbie's foot looks great and I can finally dress him like a little boy. This winter is going to be tough with the snowsuits and stuff. Thanks again, Stefanie and Robbie (41/2 mos) wrote: Hi there and welcome, Glad to hear that your little guy has done well with his casts and 23/7 wear! Our little girl also has unilateral right clubfoot. The link that gave you is to Dr. Ponseti's web site and he describes how brace wear should be reduced. First to about 18 hrs, then to 16, then to 14 and finally when walking is well established, down to 12. Honestly, I was sooo happy to have Grace out of her brace 23/7 and was very confident in her correction and we went to about 16 hrs after our 23/7 (3 mos of this as per protocol) and she was fine. We then went down to 14 hrs, when she was cruising. She has now been walking for about 3 mo's or so but I still keep her in her FAB for 13 hrs. And will keep this up for the duration of her brace wear - until she is 4. Again welcome and congrats on your son!
