Guest guest
Oh, Meli, no way! You are not beating this to a pulp! I have been SOOOO appreciative of all the suggestions people have made. There is a wonderful " common knowledge " here that is helpful, supportive, encouraging -- and having access to it has been comforting and really useful. For me, the oily discharge business has been the most distasteful effect of the DS. (And I say that *still* having enuf nausea, vomiting and diarrhea that I still have not yet made it back to work full-time, but I'm becoming more and more confident that all this really *is* going to abate soon.) Anyway, yes, several people have made the suggestion that fiber supplements have been helpful, as well as rice in the diet. There's definitely a logic to it since fiber binds fats to a certain degree in the gut. Some people have suggested Fiber Choice chewables, some FiberCon tabs, and someone else recommended Citrucel and metamucil " wafers " . Conversely, other people have said that the fiber supplements have given them gas, cramps and bloating. SO - I am doing a little experiment. I am currently trying FiberCon tabs, then plan to try Fiber Choice and Citrucel each afterwards to see what reactions I get and if they help. Also, I am trying to have at least a little rice these days. (In fact, in just a few minutes I plan to order some take-out sushi.) I realize that as I try these things, I need to also increase my fat intake a bit as well, but I've been a bit nervous about it, as you understand. *g* I continue to wear my 2 maxipads. Meli, thank you, and *everyone* out there for being so kind, mutually supportive and informative. It's certainly made a big difference to me numerous times! It is an awsome list, isnt it? .. Conversely, other people have > said that the fiber supplements have given them gas, cramps and bloating. > SO - I am doing a little experiment. I had a couple of days of gas when I first started them, too. But that passed (pun intended!) and now I am happy as can be. I so hope this works for you, what a thing to have to endure!!
