Guest guest
I've not had a chance to update here in awhile! We took Rose to Iowa for a checkup on the 14th, and she is doing very well. Dr. Ponseti was very pleased. I wasn't able to get an approval from insurance for Grant, but Dr. Ponseti looked at his feet. He agreed with Dr. Koop about clubfeet with spina bifida being different to treat and felt we were in good hands with Dr. Koop. I've been hearing lots of good things about Dr. Koop and his treatment of spina bifida patients. So, Grant is on his seventh pair of casts, and he'll be getting another set tomorrow. On Tuesday, he's scheduled to have a percutaneous tenotomy on each foot. It will be the same procedure but in a different place than what Rose had. Dr. P did her's in office, but Dr. K will be doing Grant's in the OR. He shouldn't need anesthesia, but Dr. K wants a sterile environment. I'm good with that, but I don't like having to prep for the OR! Grant is 10 weeks old now, and he's already 15 pounds. He's smiling, and he's still a mellow, lil' sweetie while getting his casts on. Just thought I'd let y'all know what's going on. And how long has she been out of the brace if you don't mind my asking =) That is wonderful that you have found such a good dr. for Grant!! How great is it that he will be able to treat both his cf and sb!! Hope Grant likes him =) How is treatment for the sb going? Sounds like he is getting big =) 15 pds at 10 weeks, wow! Nice that his feet are progressing so well. Good luck with the tenotomy and let us know how it goes! & Grace 16 mos > > I've not had a chance to update here in awhile!
