Guest guest
I think your friend is telling you old-wive's tales, (sort of like if you sneeze with your eyes open, your eyeballs will fly out) You will weaken any muscle by not using it, though. You might try some gentle stretching exercises, maybe warm showers on the sore muscles. If that doesnt do the trick, you may want to check with your doctor. Guest guest
First surgery, I was there 9 days. Had a slight fever that would not go away and a bad pain in my left rib area. Deveney went on vacation the day after my surgery. ( caring Doc eh?). Day 11 at home the pain was so severe and I could not breathe. Back to emergency. I had a bowel obstruction so this meant another surgery. Praise God Dr McConnell was there to help since Dr Deveney was still on vacation. I had fluid on my lungs, cellulitis, and a few other things. They left me open at this point since they had run out of zippers. They practiced their torture on me for the next 20 days trying to get my blood count into a safe area then finally closed me up and sent me home. My hernia is about 10 " and they did partially close the opening so I have to be careful of strangulation. My ribs have never felt ok. Some have suggested it was from the rib spreader. That and the hernia is where all my pain is. I believe if I had Dr Welker or Dr or really any other surgeon do my surgery I would have faired better. In not so brief that is my story.
