Guest guest
Anyone here done both at the same time? We just went into the spica and are having a hard time getting the bar adjusted right. Our orthotist made an adjustable bar for us, since they didn't have any of the red ones, but due to the angle of her legs/feet it just caused her shoes to slip and leave some huge red marks, that I know are the beginning of pressure sores, so that didn't work. He may be able to bend the bar at the right angle to make it work, but I'm not sure. Anyone else here deal with this? What was your solution? Right now we rigged a way that we could use some metal brackets from Home Depot to immobilize her foot (with the Markell shoe on it) and then brace/clamp it against her cast. Though I'm worried about it cracking the cast. Anyone know how hard/easy it is to crack a fiberglass cast? Oh, and dd is 8 months old. Thanks!
