You have had a wonderful recovery and it seems this man is really a pro. I would have been afraid to go out of the country for surgery, but he seems to be top notch and even better than some of the American Dr.s Did you say he sewed you instead of stapling? Maybe thats the way to go. I know you mentioned about his use of the over-lapping sutures to stop leaks and I did see reference to this somewhere in Dr. Hess' writings, that because of hearing about your Dr.s use of that, Hess now does it, too. I think Hess staples and then sutures. You guys are talking some really heavy duty scarey stuff here for post-ops lately! I tend to watch those who complain about complications, etc. on this list (even small stuff like nausea and others, not necc bit stuff) and check out who there Dr. was and I must say that certain Dr's patients seem to list less of those. Makes me pretty damn sure who I want to work on me. And sure who I wouldn't want! Carole
Guest guest
Judie, I agree that hand sweing is the way to go. I know Dr. Anthone does his closing without a stapler and the intestinal work is all hand sewn. I think he does use a stapler/cutter for removing 3/4 of the stomach. His leak record is 1 out of over 500, so whatever he does works magic! Also, my wife had a Fobi procedure with staples for closure. She has extra scar marks where the staples were.
