Guest guest
Well Dee, with Dr. Rabkin you have a ton of questions to go over with the nurse. She measures and weighs you, and takes your vitals. She also measures your legs from the knee to the ankle & the girth of your calf so that they will have the right size leg cuff (whatever they're called) to keep the blood circulating during and after surgery. Then she takes a bunch of blood samples, you give urine, do an ekg (if you don't bring a current one with you) and then you go to x-ray for chest films. The day before surgery you are on a clear liquid diet & you take antibiotics at specified times, drink a small bottle of this horrible tasting stuff & then spend the rest of the evening running to the bathroom (be prepared for a sore bum). On the day of surgery you don't get an enima. Is that what you were looking for? Janet >someone please let us pre-ops know what >to expect.
