Maybe you need to get yourself out of starvation mode???? Not eating enough

can create problems just like eating to much!

I'm sorry to hear about your cat...that is so hard to deal with.

I am very sorry about you losing your cat, it's so very sad when we lose a

pet. From personal experience it seems that cats tend to hide their sickness

quite a bit, so don't blame yourself.

I hope that your weight loss starts up again and things go better for you.

I know the feeling. Losing a cat is about the worst thing thing

that can happen. I worry every day about losing my spoiled brat. I

hope your daughter adjusts to the loss. Luckily she won't remember

this in a few years.

The plateau thing is horrible but we are in the same boat.

Oh Kathy, I was laughing so hard at the " Aunt Flo "

remark... until I read further about your cat. I am

so very sorry. I understand what you're going through

because my beloved cat is 18+ years old and I see her

heading downward - it's scary.

I'm so sorry... you'll be in my prayers tonight.

Kathy,

So sorry about your cat. Having had to put down (thank heavens at different

times!)two dogs and a horse, I know what a hole it leaves in your life and

heart. Don't beat yourself up about not noticing; sometimes things just

creep up on us. Just be thankful for the love and devotion you received from

your cat over the years and for the love and care you gave her. It was a

love mutually blessed.

Kathy -

First, sorry to hear about your cat. Its always sad to lose a family member

and our animals are just that.

Secondly, you have your answer to your plateau in your first sentence,

above. If you are barely eating anything, your body has gone into

starvation mode and is trying to hoarde those calories. I found, and know

that MANY other post-ops have, that the more quantity you can eat, the

better you lose. Concentrating, of course, on proteins first. It never

ceased to blow me away that I lost better when I could eat more. And,

upping the fats help, too -- if you're tending to do lower fat.

I know 8 weeks out, its harder to eat more -- but try it as best you can and

see. Give it a try for a week or two -- I think you'll be pleasantly

surprised.

Take good care -

Sorry you're feeling down, Kathy. I know how you feel about the cat. We

moved here (NC) from Ca. in Oct with our 2 cats. In Dec. we had to put one

down and this past weekend we had to take the other in. She had the worst

bladder infection the vet ever saw. He was shocked that it hadn't killed

her. She's on meds now. But I feel so bad because she must have been hurting

for a long time and we didn't know that was the problem. For you it won't

help but maybe for your dd a new kitty might help her.
