Guest guest
I hope all goes well on your visit. I know how frustrating it can be, my daughter went into her brace 23/7 at 13 months. But time flys and after a month of 23/7 her hours were gradually brought down. We wish you two a good orto visit! and lynnekruchten wrote: Well my son Aidan goes to the Ortho tomorrow and I am hoping that he will finally have his hours reduced in the DBB. He is still currently 23/7 at almost 10 months of age. He had his second tenotomy in November and casts removed December 22nd. I couldn't believe how great his feet looked. I think they grew 2 sizes. I've learned in the last year never to anticipate what will happen at these Ortho visits because I am almost always blindsided. I just wanted to vent some of my nervous energy in the hopes to calm myself. Thanks to everyone for all your support over the last 10 months. What a year!! Guest guest
He went into the shoes in July at 23/7, had a second tenotomy in November, back into casts and back into the shoes 23/7 since December 22nd. So let's see. . . 6 months of full time wear. He is still wanting me to keep him in them 23/7. I'm going to talk to his PT today to see what she thinks. He is getting so close to being mobile and cruising. I just wonder if he won't start to weight bear a little sooner if he has a little more time to practice. > > > > > > Well my son Aidan goes to the Ortho tomorrow and I am hoping that > >he > > > will finally have his hours reduced in the DBB. Guest guest
Lynne, I think it is a long time to be in the shoes 23/7 and could be slowing down his progress at this point. I don't want to tell you to go against your doctors wishes but perhaps you could site the global-help booklet to him where it tells about the bracing protocol? Plus, any back-up your PT can give you wouldn't hurt. lynnekruchten wrote: He went into the shoes in July at 23/7, had a second tenotomy in November, back into casts and back into the shoes 23/7 since December 22nd.
