Guest guest
Mickey, I have scars that run from under my armpit, in the shape of a y...all the way down the inside of both arms which curves around to the back of the elbow. Unless they do the surgery differently now, thats pretty much the procedure. Its a very long and complex surgery and recovery is interesting! Laughing...I couldn't brush my hair or teeth for a week at least. The scars have faded dramatically with the exception of the outer elbow which for some odd reason...(probably sun bathing) have remained pretty red! Hope this helps, Theresa > I have bat wings under my arms and would love to have that skin removed. However, in checking this out I was told the only procedure being done will leave a scar down the back of my arms. Does anyone have any info on this? TIA! > Micky > > >
Guest guest
Well, if the scar isn't that bad maybe I'll reconsider. I could fly with these babies!!! LOL! Guest guest
Hi Dee, I had the surgery a little under 10 years ago. I had my poor sad sack boobs raised back to the proper position and had my batwings removed. At that time, the cost was 11,ooo big ones. My insurance did not cover any of it. The surgery took 6 hours for both procedures. Your arms are pretty sore, because you have about 17 inches of incision on each arm. I had no problem using my arms for anything except raising them. Understand they are removing quite a bit of excess skin as well as tightening everything up. Its kinda how your face feels when you get a real bad sunburn and it feels so tight and achy. It took me eight weeks to recover from both surgeries, the arms being a lot more tender than my boobs. The procedure is an outpatient one, meaning you come in in the morning, and go home early evening. Because I am such a wimp, I elected to spend the night at a convelescent hospital which my plastic surgeon had arrangements with, so that I could receive heavy duty pain meds over night. I was released the next afternoon. Unfortunately, I have gained back half the weight I lost with that liquid fast, and my arms have grown quite a bit, but not as bad as they were before. I have no idea what they will look like after the DS and if another tightening can be done! Mazel Tov, Theresa > Theresa, please share more about the surgery! Was it > expensive?
