Peptizyde, enzymes and mold

Here is a post from Devin Houston, formulator of both SerenAid and

Peptizyde on the question of molds from the enzyme board:

This question of molds and enzymes keeps coming up; I've addressed it

in the FAQ section of my website, but it bears repeating here:

Fungal enzymes are secreted by the fungi, which are cultivated in

large incubators. The enzymes are separated and purified away from

the rest of the fungus through a process involving 8 to 12 different

protocols. As a result, no part of the fungal body (which is the

allergenic part) is included in the enzyme preparation. This is the

same as penicillin and bread mold; penicillin is purified from the

bread mold, but when one gets a shot of penicillin, they are not

getting a shot of mold!

In the same way that some are allergic to penicillin, some can be

allergic to fungal enzymes, and may be totally unrelated to any

allergic reactions to molds.

All plant enzyme products, regardless of manufacturer, are primarily

derived from papaya, pineapple, or Aspergillus oryzyae/niger

organisms. - Devin

So, there is a very slim chance that someone may be reactive to the

fungal enzymes itself as with anything, but many people who are

reactive to molds have no trouble with plant based enzymes. And ALL

plant based enzymes are acquired this way. Peptizyde is showing very

successful improvement for many people, whether they are on,

partially on, or not on any type of restrictive diet. This makes it a

very nice supplement to other therapies.
