Guest guest
Oh, I relate to this post. My son (5 1/2) is borderline Aspergers, extremely bright and verbal. I've had many professionals tell me he definitely doesn't have Asperger's; others say he does. And, now that he's improving because of interventions such as the diet, occupational therapy and perhaps the plain old passage of time and maturity, he's looking less Aspie. I'm grateful that his issues are mild--I'm confident that he'll do okay in life. But the shadow cases are hard on parents, too. Your child's issues look more like bad parenting to some than a disorder. The uncertainty is awful. You start to doubt your sanity if you feel your son has a problem and certain paid professionals who are supposed to be don't. And your child needs much the same services, usually, as a kid with a more severe expression. Fight for the services you think your daughter needs. I think the variety of opinions is very common, esp. with borderline kids. Shannan ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
