Guest guest
We did the same - went to Dr. P without telling our local Ortho. However, I did finally confess and he was interested in seeing her casts. He followed our case and when we had reached a point with Dr. P where he could no longer figure out what to do for her we went back to him. He has suggested several times that the ATTT was necessary so we've finally consented. Now we feel like we've committed infidelity with Dr. P! LOL However when he looked up at me and said " I just don't know why her foot keeps relapsing. I shouldn't be a problem now and the only thing I can do is recast it " we knew it was time to see if anyone else could help. It is a hard line but you just have to know inside that you've done your best for your daughter and that's all that counts. Chris Going back to our local doctor Okay, I have committed doctor infidelity. LOL I went to see Dr. Ponseti without telling my local orthopedist here. I know I am not the only one who has done this and I am nervous about how to approach this issue with him. I like him a lot but went to Dr. Ponseti because only he could answer some questions I had about 's feet, which are atypical in some ways. I would like to think that my doc here would like to see a Ponseti cast. He has been trained by Dr. Ponseti so is following the Ponseti method for the most part. Any suggestions or experiences to share? I will post later about my visit with Dr. Ponseti. It was a wonderful experience! Guest guest
Don't worry Carol. I'm sure your ortho will understand. I did somewhat the same thing, but without the actual visit to Dr. P. I told my ortho all along that I was communicating with Dr. P via phone/email. When this whole " c " shaped thing came along and I heard from Dr. P that my little guy may need 1-2 more casts, I called the ortho. It was so hard to tell him in a way which wouldn't be interpreted as an offense. I simply told him that from the last set of pics that I sent to Dr. P, he suggested 1-2 more casts would be necessary. Then I told my ortho that I would like him to take a look to see what he thinks. I really respect our ortho doctor and trust his opinion also. > > Okay, I have committed doctor infidelity.
