My hair is very long (say about inch about my knees and I'm 5'8 " ) and

I have the same problem with french braiding. What I've found works

better for me is put a tight pony tail in at the base of my head and

then braid the lower part which I can then bring around my shoulder to

braid. I think it's easier to sleep on without the braid actually on

my head. Worked great for 4 days in hospital when my son was born.

Of course if it gets really bad I can have my husband redo it for me

as long as I tell him piece by piece what to move.
