Guest guest
Just an update on me: First, I want to tell Steve how sorry I am about all his kidney stone difficulties. I've been meaning to write and empathize -- how terrible. I've heard of kidney stones and such as complications but I don't think it is a high percentage. I hope you are feeling better soon! It's been really stressful for me this past week. DH returned to work today (he commutes from Brooklyn) and I'm just so worried about possible future terrorist attacks (especially chemical/biological or even limited nuclear). It was wonderful having him home last week (he took some vacation days) and now I really miss him. He got to work ok this morning and called before taking an express bus home so I hope to see him soon and snuggle this evening. On a positive note, I hadn't weighed myself in the past week and did today --- I'm now at 219! Woah! How wonderful! I will have lost 100 lbs at 207, so I'm soon to be a member of the 100 Club! I've just been trying to focus on my protein (I need to stock up a little on powder just to be on the safe side) and get my vitamins in (I'm not sure of anyone else, but I've been SO paranoid of running out of vitamins and not being able to locate them in a time of crisis.. They aren't cheap and it isn't easy to stockpile them without going bankrupt). People had mentioned the TWINLABS A & D -- What about Vitamin K and E??? Do you take extra supplements for these? I think they are significantly less than ADEKS and I'd like to keep a three month supply on hand or something. Also, I'm using Chromagen Forte liquid iron, but would like to keep some cheaper Iron substitutes on hand in case of emergency... Anyone have any suggestions?????? Same for multis -- does anyone know of a relatively cheap multi that I could stock up on??????? I'm going to get extra bottled water, some dried meat, canned foods and candles, sterno for cooking, etc. tomorrow. I'm making a list now. I want to have everything (including our hand-operated crank radio) in a luggage just in case something terrible occurs here again and we're stranded, etc. I hope and pray this doesn't happen here in NYC (or anywhere else in this country for that matter). CAn you believe it, my DH actually ordered gas masks for everyone? I know, it sounds extreme, but it is pretty commonplace in some countries. Of course, the most important prepartation is spiritual, I believe. So, we are getting in touch with prayer and religious services now more than ever. All the best to everyone, lap ds with gallbladder removal january 25, 2001 Dr. GAgner/Mt. Sinai/NYC preop: 307 lbs/bmi 45 (5' 9 1/2 " ) now: 219! YAHOO!!!
