Guest guest
Enoch has been in school since he was 3.He is now 6. The best thing I did was get an advocate. There are some out there who are federally funded. In our state of MO we have MPact. They have advocates and teach workshops on the IEP process and parents rights. Contact your local FEAT association. THe second best thing I did after 3 years of the school not getting it and constant reminders and letters written was write a child complaint to the state ed. dept. This is the first step in the due process hearing. The school lied and I lost. But they hired a lawyer who is helping them but their ducks in order. Plus the state sent an observer out from their Autism dept who wrote pages of changes that the school needed to make for my son. (Gee. It was what I have been telling them for years.) Another thing I did was get a behavioral consultant who visits the school weekly and helps out. __________________________________________________
