Guest guest
Wearing the FAB and getting beat up all night is why I moved Everett to a seperate bed...neither of us were getting any quality sleep (meaning me or the baby but dad wasn't either). I put a little baby bed right beside my side of the bed, i could reach over and touch him. Using a little seperate bed and a sleep sack to keep him snuggle-warm in it made all the difference in our household harmony. I still nursed and it wasnt AS convienient as co-sleeping but the trade off was worth it. s. Anyone Co-Sleeping with a FAB'er? Many restless nights and bruised legs later, Hayden is STILL in our bed (not for a lack of trying on MY part to get him OUT!) It wasn't so bad when he had casts on, although I had some pretty bruises then, but it is even scarier with the FAB on - he swings his legs up over his head and I find myself doing the " duck and cover " most of the night so he doesn't bring the bar back down on my face! I've woken up in the night with something digging in my back (the bar again) and he likes to sleep with one leg up on me. I've thought about using a sleepsack, but he is such a warm kid I think he'd roast all night in it. I've been using receiving blankets to wrap around the bar and various small pillows to pad my body, but they don't stay in okace for long because he moves constantly. Of course, I could always kick my husband out of the bed - he snores anyway. Anyone else dealing with this issue? What have you tried? Thanks in advance! Guest guest
, Just to jump in here. If you sew, I can get you a pattern for a decent sleep sack. Then you can make it out of whatever stretchy material you like. There is a pattern in the file section of the ns4cf list, size 2T. You can print it off, or read the instructions to see if you can do it. I have other sizes too. Mom to Tenny. rt. cf. 7/15/04 FAB 14/7 and the other monsters who shall remain ??? Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the great suggestions - I've been trying to get him into his crib, but since I am the only one doing any sleep training in this house (ahem), it's been hard for me and since he still nurses through the night, I often end up with him in our bed. In addition to that, he is extraordinarily attached to me (more than my girls were even, and they were nursing demons) and he wants to just be near me - he will even gripe if I turn over with my back to him until I turn back over and nuzzle him into me - ha! he's a boob man, already! I'll look for the pattern for the sleep sack because I do sew and will even ponder just making some sort of cover to go over the shoes and the bar in case he is too warm. My fondest wish is for him to be in his crib, so maybe the suggestion by to put the crib on my side of the bed with one side off of it is a good one. It'll entail some rearranging, but definitely doable! Oh, and Hayden is just over 7 months, by the way. I am finding that I am contorted into all sorts of bizarre positions every night and am suffering heavily for it. You should see it when the 3 year old joins us, too - all in a queen sized bed! Thank God our oldest is 14 and wouldn't want to be caught dead in our bed! Whew! Thanks again everyone! ph Grush wrote: , Just to jump in here. Guest guest
, did you see the Reversible Bar Cover pattern? If you make them a little bigger, they cover parts of the bolts too. It is in the files section: Reversible Bar Cover Pattern.doc We have a foam cover over the bar too, but if you don't I bet you could just add extra padding to the bar cover to make it thicker. , > Just to jump in here.
