how high should the helmet be in the front?

We will be 3 weeks into the helmet at the end of this week and I am not sure whether there is any improvement. Partly I think Aman haven't had any growth spurt yet, he had cold and actually gained only 60 g (2 oz) in 2 weeks instead of ~280 g (10 oz).

The other reason might be that his helmet isn't fitting properly. We went for an adjustment, but I guess it made things worse.What happen is that the ortho put small adhesive pads along the bottom edge at the back to prevent Aman from wiggling out in the night (he does it by rubbing his head against the mattress). And in addition he trimmed off the forehead part WITHOUT first trying it on, so now I feel it is too high and wouldn't be holding his prominent part of the forehead from growing. I took Aman back next day, but our ortho assured me that it is just fine as long as it doesn't go above the equator (midway between eye brows and hair line). But the thing is that the helmet actually shifts up and down and depending on how up it is, the helmet is either right at the equator or above. I called the ortho again and he thinks that I am just "stuck" with this issue.. But he

also told that if I am unsatisfied he could make another helmet. The thing is that I am not sure, maybe it is alright and I don't want to waste a helmet if it is. Maybe I am being too paranoid., but it still bugs me that he trimmed it a bit to much without fitting it before. I was wondering whether anybody had a helmet that was this high and is happy with the result.

The other thing I was wondering whether it is normal to constantly doubt whether the helmet is going to work, whether it is fitting right, whether it s making things worse... I could go on with my fears... Or maybe I need to take a deep breath and wait...

We regressed a bit. Elaine is not done, but she was very sick (RSV that devolved into pneumonia) so with her fevers and such she was out of it the better part of 3 weeks. Measurements aren't always exact but she was at zero (plagio assym) for her last adjustment, and when she was re adjusted after she got better a month later there was about an 1/8 of an inch difference (less than 2mm), and her brachey got worse. It's not because the flat area itself worsened so much as what was there didn't change through a growth spurt making the ratios worse. I know <2mm is within normal, but it bothers me when we were at zero a month earlier.

As for true regression, where the flat spot would get significantly worse, I haven't heard of a case like that.
