Guest guest
In response to how you are positioned and feet hurting from standing -- HOW can this be? How can you " stand " up if you are unconscious? Certainly they don't let you stand there on your own, with your weight on them!! How does this work??? Attached: , I was at one of Dr. E's support meetings where he told us about the table that is used for surgery. You are on your back (in la la land!!) and it is tilted with your head up first, I think he said 45 degree angle..while he works his magic on your stomach...then the table is tilted so your feet are up, so he can work on your intestines. Dr. E said sometimes people have told him that thier feet hurt after surgery, from standing during the surgery. By tilting the table, it moves the other organs up or down..out of the way. I hope I have explained that so you understand. Cindy

Guest guest
You are strapped to the table. And I am not sure about the 45 degree angle, it may be less of an angle...but that was told to us at a support group meeting. I would think you are not really standing up, but would have some weight on your feet from the angle. Guest guest
I think the hospital should take some of those wrapping bubbles that breakables are mailed in and sew them into our surgical slippers. When the table is tilted, our feet won't be so sore. If they can't do that, just tape the bubbles to the bottoms of the surgical slippers. dee --- Cindy wrote: > > You are strapped to the table. Guest guest
From what I remember of those last few moments in the operating room, before they put me under, was a nurse putting 3 or 4 rectangle shape foam pads under my feet. But what puzzles me is I did wake up with finger print size bruises on the underside of my upper arms. Must of happened when they tried to move me. Can you imagine trying to move all that " unconscious " weight around...LOL....
