I've read some reports that say Pacific fish are usually less contaminated than Atlantic, that farmed fish are safer than ocean. Yippee! Then I found other reports that said farmed fish are full of contaminants from polluted water tables and ag run-off. Oh no. And one non- government lab that tested randomly selected fish found that the levels of mercury varied dramatically from fish to fish, and even from can to can of tuna. That did it. So unless I submit each purchase to a lab before eating, I don't know what's really in the fish. My son loved tuna, but we stopped it months ago and only rarely have fish at all, knowing the likelihood that he can't detox well.
