Guest guest
Marla, I am down with the worst case of bronchitis I've ever had. I've been on Avelox for 8 days now, along with an IM Rocephelexon(sp) and am only today gotten dressed for the first time since Sunday. Fortunately, I caught this infection before it went into pneumonia-- but I am having problems with some slightly bloody phlegm still. The xray did not show a blood clot-- so we're "trying" to breathe easier... I am wiped out, It's hard for me to not have some answers as to what to do next, but right now, I"m at a loss. so, fluids, rest and Depends-- it's a grand life we live.. Guest guest
Glad to hear from you tracie... I hope you are back soon and feeling better Many Blessings A. Guys, I'm still gone. Last week I ended up with a pier pole halting my backwards motion as I backed out of a parking space in a poorly lit underground parking structure. So, I'm dealing with a whiplash.... The neuro thinks my neuropathy is more from the diabetes-- and that it may reverse itself somewhat when we have that issue under better control. I do hope he's right. I am having problems with pericarditis again, and the bronchial infection did not clear up with the Levaquin--- so it's back to a second culture (the first one was bad, no one notified me, so we're back at square one to start over) so that we can find an antibiotic that will knock this out-- Know you are all in my prayers, and I'll be back when I get here. Guest guest
This week I found out that the echocardiogram shows that my aortic valve is only working at 50% of normal. Which goes along with the fact that my lungs are now only operating at 46%-- with only the surface of less than 2 lobes functioning. My energy level feels like the 4% difference-- at the maximum. Needless to say, I'm wiped out. I try to check my emails every couple of days, and if I read (or recieve a funny or joke or article) I'll forward it to you all-- we need to share the laughter and joy and sadness--------- so even if I don't answer your posts- (the other mods are helping with that) know that should an emergency come up, that I will stick my head in! The cardio did point out that with the lungs being as compromised as they are-- that surgery to correct the valves (the tricuspid and mitral are also sticking) is not an option. I have had my doctor send the info to Dr. Sharma, and I do hope he'll reply. My Rheumi wants direction in what we might be able to do if we take me off the Remicade. For me, this is very scary, as the Remicade helps so much with my body pain-- the sarc-induced arthritis and the severe osteoarthritis that is from years of prednisone and sports injuries from when I was young-- but it's no longer helping with the lungs. I'm at a loss- I really don't know what to ask for from my docs-- as we've pretty well run the gamet. I truly makes me experience the fragility that comes with a rare disease-- so I'm doing what I can in changing my diet, working on getting my lymphatic system to work a bit better and I'm seeing this as stepping stone to a "new normal" again.... Please be patient with your questions-- they will be addressed-- the gang is just a bit under the weather right now-- so I know that time may seem to go by slowly before you get the help you need. Trust that we will answer! My love to all, Tracie NS Co-owner/moderator
