Guest guest
Leila, Thanks for sharing your digital scan of Maysa. Again, our daughter's profile is very similar to yours and we too have no doubt that our daughter needs to be banded. I've heard others mention that once the decision is made and you move forward, the guilt goes away and you feel good about the process. This is the case for me. We made a decision to go back to Cranial Technologies in San Diego. I have to give them great kudos. I called yesterday morning and they were able to see us that very afternoon. We had a very good experience (I think it helped that we had time to digest everything and come to terms that our daughter needed to be banded...unlike the first visit). They were able to provide us with the same digital scan that Leila posted of Maysa. We didn't think to ask for a copy of it, but they showed it to us at the office. Thanks to all for the feedback. We are excited to get her banded and her head nice and rounded! Sincerely,(mom to Aryana, 5 months 2 weeks, L Plagio/Brachy - soon to be in a DOC band)
Guest guest
Hi ! Please let us know how Aryana does at her fitting. I am confident, she'll take it well. Keegan is very sensitive and hardly noticed the band being on his head. He only reacts to the velcro as it's being removed for cleanings. He also didn't have any skin irritations in this SoCal heat which I was thankful for! As another Mommy to a Brachy/Plagio baby in DOCBand, I'd love to hear how Aryana does in her DOCBand! We are currently 5 weeks into band and already have great rounding. (Although, I did expect the posterior height to be addressed as quickly) Melinda Mommy to Keegan - Almost 6 months - Brachy/L Plagio - DOCBand 5 weeks > > Leila, > Thanks for sharing your digital scan of Maysa. Guest guest
Thank you , Melinda and Leila. I'll keep you posted on how she does with her new DOC band (which is due to arrive in a week or so). I'm glad to hear that there hasn't been difficulties with the So Cal heat. I've been nervous about that. Any tips you all have with decorating/painting is much appreciated as I too would like decorate on the first day but haven't the slightest idea how! Thanks again for the support and guidance through this tough decision. Guest guest
Hi, I was reading CT's parent's board and they said stickers work really well. They do peel off but that gives you a chance to redecorate for the seasons. Other parents have had them airbrushed or painted professionally. Hope that helps. Myself I think we'll go with stickers and change them as we like. Lou Annlawoman1729@...Lou Ann Fugate
Guest guest
....Now you're forever in the Mommy with Banded Baby Club!!! (No one seeks membership but it's nice to know there are others out there) Regarding decorating, I tried to decorate myself and it was a horrible mess... I ended up having Lazardo.com (a) paint Keegan's helmet. She did a WONDERFUL job and it was less expensive than what I ended up spending for paints/brushes/di-cuts/stickers! s is SO expensive! I screened a carefully and she uses all baby-safe paints AND we had the helmet back in 5 hours (painting and drying). My husband insisted on the CUBS. I would have preferred the surf boards. I also had CT " approve " the painting and they stated it would NOT void the helmet nor diminish its integrity to shape and mold. =) Please send us pictures of Aryana! =) Melinda > > Thank you , Melinda and Leila. > I'll keep you posted on how she does with her new DOC band (which is due to arrive in a week or so). > I'm glad to hear that there hasn't been difficulties with the So Cal heat. Guest guest
I am with you about decorating the helmet right away. It helped me and my hubby accept and get used to the helmet quicker. It is also a huge conversational piece in public, as he has the disney CARS theme. Bryce's helmet was already colored, so we did not have to paint. We used stickers and something you buy at 's called Modge Podge. Sounds made up, buts its a real product! It keeps the stickers on the helmet. Its been six weeks and the 2 coats of modge Podge that we applied over the stickers have lasted. I scrub that foam in the helmet with a nail brush and 91% alcohol every night. When does your daughter get her "hat"? How long did they tell you that she has to wear it? Talk to you soon! Re: Update -- Cranial Technologies San Diego Thank you , Melinda and Leila.
