It's time for my childs next MMR. What is everyone doing about their childrens vaccines? Thank You
Guest guest
From what I understand, MMR vaccines manufacturing without thimerosal has begun. However, there is a large inventory of MMR vaccines that do contain thimerosal that resides in doctor offices nationwide. I suggest that you call your doctor's office before your office visit, verify that the MMR vaccine they have on hand has no thimerosal and look with your own eyes at the vial label before they fill the syringe. I would also make them fill the syringe in your presence. If the office cannot oblige your requests, find another doctor. There should be someone who will oblige because they are as concerned as you are and also, they do want your business. Good luck with it all, Felicia
Guest guest
By " next MMR " I assume you mean it's time for the boosters. If so, then chances are your child is still immune. Simply have the doctor run a blood test to check the titers. If the child is immune, a booster is not necessary. April
Guest guest
Wendi, How did you get the exemption from the state? Has anyone ever gotten the MMR in three seperate shots? MA
Guest guest
> goodmorning, > > > Does anyone know if the MMR vaccine still contains the preservative > Thimersol? It's time for my childs next MMR. What is everyone doing > about their childrens vaccines? > > Thank You MMR has never contained thimerosal to my knowledge. Here is my information on current production. http://www.vaccinesafety.edu/thi-table.htm For children who regressed after MMR, it is a combination of prior vaccines which DID contain thimerosal which injured that child's immune system, plus the introduction of all three M M R at the same time which overwhelms the injured immune system. It is time for your child's booster, I would suggest you have your child's titres checked. About 95% of children receive full immunity from the initial MMR vaccination, so the booster is to catch the 5% who did not gain full immunity. So it is highly likely that your child is already immune, and the booster is basically irrelevant. If your child shows immunity, you can receive a medical waiver from your child's doctor. Here is my vaccination opinion, if you would like more information. It includes my advice on how to give your child vaccinations, if you choose to vaccinate your child. http://home.pacbell.net/cscomp/myvaxopn.htm If you would like to learn how to obtain a waiver/exemption for your state, here is information for that. http://www.access1.net/via/STATES/allstates.htm If your child regressed shortly after receiving his previous MMR vaccine, or if he had noticeable reactions to any other vaccinations, then I would strongly recommend you consider not further vaccinating your child at all. At least have his titres checked before agreeing to any future vaccines. Space any vaccines you decide to give, per my vaccine opinion linked above. Guest guest
Since this was brought up....We have just recently been discussing if we should cont. vaccinations(even though we feel our daughter wasn't vaccine injured) especially on our 13 mos NT son since he has some sensitivities to foods and who knows what else. I turned down the MMR at his one yr appt. The ped. said to let her know if I want to spread it out or have it in one dose when he is older, say 15 mos. Now I am thinking, some of these vaccines are ridiculous. First of all, my son won't ever have to worry about ruebella, correct? And so on...I have read some really interesting, eye-opening, frightening articles on the effects of vaccines. Which I am starting to think, along with environmental factors and possibly genetic factors, account for the sharp increase in ASD. Anyway, I have never heard of titers until this group discussed it. Is it just a simple blood test? Does the child need to be poked for EACH illness you want to check or can you kill two birds with one stone? I haven't read Dana's vaccine site yet, but plan to tonight. My concern is this, these articles against vaccinations(which I have read from many sources)HAVE to be biased. Is anyone out there in medicine or have a spouse in med. who(knowing what you know)opted out of the vaccine route? I can just see my family (many in med. and definitely provaccine) and schools having major fits over this. Not that it matters... If we don't vaccinate, will it be a lifelong ordeal for the kids? I realize it depends on how I choose to opt out and where I live...just in general...is it a constant battle with public education, hosp, visits, ER, etc...???
