Guest guest
I live in Dallas, Tx, and cannot find a surgeon locally. Looks like I will have to go out of state, what concerns me is the program fee that is due over and above the insurance covered fee. Is this typical of all DS surgeons to charge this fee? I also want to go Laproscopic to minimize my hospital stay, but going out of state and being away from the doctor when I return to Dallas worries me. Should I book a hotel for a week following the surgery, to be close to the doctor? I'm I going to be able to fly back home so soon after the surgery, if I decide not to stay close by? Guest guest
Check out Dr. Booth/Dr. Kim/Dr. Warden in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. They are great. They have a hotel in the area which charges a lower rate for WLS patients. I would wait at least a few days post op after being released prior to trying to drive all that way home, Dallas is about a days drive, you should be fine though even if you wanted to go back home. Just be sure you stop and walk every so often and drink plenty of water. If flying, I know the flight from , MS to Dallas is only like 45 mins. Probably about the same from New Orleans. Good luck to you.
