Guest guest
Here is my link on rotation diets, there are several different way you can do it, depending on your reasons for doing it. http://home.pacbell.net/cscomp/rotation.htm .. Our nutrionist > wants us to do a 4 day rotational diet (4 days same food, then rotate > to new food for 4 days - - we do it for 16 days total - - 4 days x > 4) I have several problems with this. What is the reason behind this diet? Is it to find other food intolerances? Is it to avoid developing new tolerances? You don't have to do the rotation recommended by your nutritionist, you can modify it based on the information in my link above, depending on your reasons for the rotation. > > 1. My son can only drink rice milk and Darifree. If the has these > drinks for his 4 days, respectively (8 days total, what will he drink > on the other 8 days? My son drinks only water. But you can also consider pear juice if your child tolerates that. > Where will he get his calcium from? I buy a calcium supplement as a capsule, then I open the capsules and pour the contents into batter for pancakes and cookies etc. You can bake calcium because it is a mineral and can handle heat. > Also, if > he drinks rice milk for 4 consecutive days he will get constipated Can you only give him rice milk for his meals, with water between meals? That might help with the constipation issue. Or put foods on the rice days that will help him be looser. > > 2. My son will reject eating the same EXACT foods for 4 days > straight. He is already a skinny boy and he only just started > putting on weight - - I don't want him to lose weight because he is > tired of the foods we are giving him Can you make the foods look different? For example, chicken as chunks, slices, ground meat, etc. > > 3. I don't even think there is enough food in his limited diet to > cicrulate it through a 4 day rotation. It is very hard to make good > baked foods without combining different flours (e.g., tapioca, rice, > potato, etc.) You might want to consider the last rotation option from my link, where you are only concerned about the foods eliminated, not the foods given. > > If anyone has any experience with this kind of rotational diet please > let me know. We are really struggling here. Did anyone ever modifiy > the 4 day rotation diet and do 3 days, or 2 days instead? I went through several types of rotations. My main purpose was eliminating certain foods for at least 2-3 days in a row each week. I think this type of diet is acceptable, but you might disagree with that. I hope this helps. Good luck.
