Need to get rid of cold quick!!! Any ideas?

Hi everyone, I need help again. My younger son,

Tyler (2) is scheduled to have surgery next Tuesday

(25th) and yesterday he started coming down with a

cold. Today he has a runny nose and a fever. If he

isnt better by next week they wont do the surgery and

it has already been put off for a couple of months due

to other problems and I have daycare kids starting on

October 1st. Does anyone have any suggestions for

helping a cold move along faster? I know this is an

odd request, but I am panicking.
