Hi Jerry, I started with a BMI of 69, and am now down 94lbs and BMI of 54. I

am noticing a lot of skin starting to get really wrinkly now that the weight

is dropping off. I have a friend that has lost 209 lbs. She has A LOT of

excess skin that hangs over her pants, and also alot of skin on her back.

Lucky for her she has always had slender legs, so that won't be a problem for

her. She is in the process of getting approved for her abdominoplasty and

breast lift. It took her quite a while to make such a big decision, as her

sister almost died from WLS. She felt she was lucky enough to lose the weight

and live a normal life, and felt she was playing with the powers that be to

want her excess skin gone. After much consideration she decided to go ahead.

I am sure before long I will find myself in this same situation. I can't say

what I will decide at the time. I know I will be thankful for the weight loss

but I don't know if it will be enough. I guess we'll see when the time comes.

I think as long as you don't have rashes or problems you could probably live

just fine with your excess skin, it's just a personal decision I guess. Best

of luck to you.

Hi. I am waiting on insurance problems to be worked out but in the

mean time, I would appreciate alittle information. My BMI of 67 to

68. I am only 5 feet tall and weigh 350 pounds. I am a 43 year old

female. I do not want any further surgery after I have my DS

surgery. Can anyone give me any information on what I can expect with

my extra skin? Is it possible to live with it? My weight is pretty

evenly distributed. I was large busted even at 150 pounds. I carry

ALOT of my weight in my legs. Okay, I want the story after about a

200 pound loss. I feel that if I can obtain insurance approval and

have my surgery and feel healthy and can sit in a regular chair with

arms, sit in a booth, you know the rest, I will not be concerned with

the extra skin. A friend went to church with a HUGE lady who had WLS

and did great....until she got the tummy tuck....now she is almost in

a coma....been that way for months...doesn't look good for her...I do

not have rashes or problems " under my belly hang " now. I want the

good the bad and the ugly....maybe not too ugly! HA!

Hugs,

Jerry, Southern gal from Louisiana
