Guest guest
Rookie, friend. Nope, you won't emerge a better person. If you were a creep, you'll still be a creep. If you were a fine person, which you sound like you were/are, you'll still be. In either case, your mouth and bite will probably serve you better -- in the service of good or evil!!! Joke there, intended, at least. And you are exactly on target. Hey -- there are tens of thousands of posts here (unless Yahoo! has done another number on us.) and you and all enquiring minds will find accounts of experiences. Honestly, the worst part of this for most of us is in worrying about it, while the surgery is still pending. Some folks have a rough time for the first couple of weeks post op. But most often, it all resolves into a worthwhile set of modifications within a couple of weeks or months. Here's hoping that yours will as well! To both! Guest guest
OK. About what's ahead: I'm just guessing that because you have the moniker " gymchic " you may be female. If so, growth issues are less scary. But I hope someone has done a study to see whether you have completed your growth, at 16. If not, you could have surgery, then relapse because your jaw grows again. There are tests --- I think of the bone plates in the hands -- that can give your docs the info about this. It's even more essential if you're male, because guys usually grow later than women do. It's a question to ask. You will survive just fine, if you're careful. You (or your caregivers) need info about nutrition. Lots of protein, lots of calories while you're healing, which I suspect your surgeon will give you info about. " Real " food doesn't necessarily mean steak and munchies. You can get it with fortified milkshakes, whey protein, other goodies -- and ask ahead of time whether you are likely to be wired shut. If so, there are other aids that can help you even more... Do read the back posts on site. They will tell you more than any one message can. C. > > Hi everyone, I'm 16 and getting this surgery soon.
