Hi Sherri

Your story sounds a little bit similar to mine , believe me i know

your feelings of frustration and anger at having to go through all

this because of professional bad advise...It,s not right.....

I was 46 when my ordeal all began 2 years and 3 months ago , My

teeth and bite worked well , I had no problems other than the were

starting to move and become a bit crooked ...Thats when my Dentist

suggested that he could fix them....As it turned out I had a class 3

maloclusion(whatever that was) and HE Decided that rather than go

through the Surgery/Braces route( which had that been explained as

the only option ...just would'nt have happened as I did not consider

my teeth that bad for such extreme measures)...His treatment plan

would be to Crown 12 front teeth and create an " end to end " bite to

compensate for the maloclusion ,suggesting that it would turn out as

good and perhaps even better than braces/surgery as well as saving

me,having them rearrange my face ....This is how my nightmare

begins...Long story short, I now have nice straight teeth that crash

down onto each other as the angle was changed for them to meet " end

to end " ....this has thrown my mouth into disfuctional turmoil , I

could never have imagined that teeth on teeth could have caused this

much chao's.....He finally sent me to a specialist who was horrified

that he had attempted this...for the past 8 months life has been

bearable as long as I wear my splint 24/7 .... Some 40 appts. later I

am now sitting here writing this waiting for the hosptital to

call ,to give my time to show up for surgery TOMMORROW(holy crap),

anyway they the have to move my bottom jaw back 5 ml to stop my front

top teeth from crashing into my bottom front teeth ,by doing this it

throws all my back teeth out of line so after I've mended from

surgery I will need them all recrowned ...Apparently I get a Bonus

chin job out of the deal, as they move my jaw back the chin goes with

it and they don't want that....I hope it does'nt change the way I

look to much as I have an Identical Twin ,...although he told me to

ask the surgeon to save the " blueprint " just incase he likes the way

it turns out ,LOL....

We have just booked 10 days in vegas for the end of Sept. to

celebrate the end of this mess...so I,m hopin it's all over by

then!!....Whew , I think I just vented ....Sorry....

4 weeks till it's your turn

Good luck & take care

Bob

To all,

Booking a vegas to celebrate the end!!! I love it. My husband is

going to Acapoco (sorry have no idea how to spell that) for a

conference this summer. I wasn't going to go because I didn't want

to leave our daughter with anyone overnight but now I'm thinking I

NEED A VACATION!! with good food and water and drinks with

umbrellas. I don't know it just seems a little more tempting now.
