Guest guest
Congratulations! I actually missed seeing my son in his band when he graduated, I thought he looked so cute in it. And now when he sees them in his closet, he wants to wear them again! So I feel good knowing that he doesn't see them as an unpleasant experience. Since he's still on the young side and you're on the fence about another one, you could always wait a month or 2 and see how you feel then. Let the results sink in for now and then reevaluate. You'd still get good results (assuming he grows at a good rate). Jake-2 (DOCBand Grad 9/08) Jordan-5 > > Well we took him to the doc on Wed and he has fully grown out of his helmet and got another mm of growth in the past week. We may do one more helmet to get him to exactly 2 standard deviations from normal. he is .75 away from that and if we banded him it would be another 3 months for about 1 CM of growth so we are trying to see if Insurance will pay ect. Our Ortho at CT told us she is really pleased with his growth and we could go either way and not make a bad decision. He i snow rolling and sitting up on his own so the only time he is on his back is when he sleeps- he is so use to sleeping on his back that he will not sleep any other way even though he can roll- so I am worried about that. Also the 1st night he did not sleep well, since he is use to having the helmet on to lean back on.. anyone have any suggestions about sleeping- I do not want regression. Also I took him back to our Ped that suggested at 3 months to get him in a helmet and she told me > it looks great and that is she were meeting him for the 1st time she would not recommend him for a band now-so that feels great- he is not perfect but he also has my husbands head shape and our ortho told us some of head shape comes down to genetics. I will post pics soon but am so happy we did it- he loves so great and I love kissing his sweet head again! However I thought he looked so cute in his helmet too :-) > > Thanks for all your support- this was a really great experience for us and we are so happy we did it so early and have no regrets- if you are thinking about banding but not sure- do it, it is so worth it and is harder on us then them- I think he misses his hat :-) > > > Mom to Aidan DOC Band graduate 2/12/2009 was in it for 7 weeks >
Guest guest
Congratulations! How old was Aidan when he got the helmet? Just wondering.. sounds like he is around 6 or 7 months now? > > Well we took him to the doc on Wed and he has fully grown out of his helmet and got another mm of growth in the past week. Guest guest
Congratulations to Aidan. My daughter did not miss her helmet, but some babies do. I thought i might put it back on her for a few nights if needed, but it wasn't. -christine sydney, 3 yrs, starband grad > > Well we took him to the doc on Wed and he has fully grown out of his helmet and got another mm of growth in the past week. Guest guest
Congratulations! I am looking forward to being where you are right now and we haven't even started yet. I was trying to find some info on how good helmets work -- mainly whether facial assymetry gets completely corrected. The thing is I don't fully understand how the helemet will work on that issue. Would it make the other side of face to catch up or does the protruding side resgresses. It would great to hear what was your experience. Thanks.
