Phantom nerve response in tongue

I see the topic of nerve damage being discussed. It's been a

little over ten years since my lower advancement, but I still have a

spot along my molar gum line on one side along the outside that

if touched during something like a dental checkup/cleaning has

always given the sensation that something has suddenly

clamped down very hard on the side of my tongue. This seems

to be permanent given the length of time since the surgery. I

recently had another genioplasty (my chin was terribly recessive)

so have " reset " the nerve healing clock a bit. But I'm curious if

anyone else has ever had this weird nerve response that is like

some " wires were crossed " since it triggers a pain in an area not

even being touched.
