Guest guest
Ok... I am getting nervous! My surgery is scheduled for February 1st. Check-in is at 5:30am. I am having LeFort I (2 or 3 piece). My OS asked if I wanted to have joint surgery at the same time, but I declined since he said that the outcome would be 50/50. My surgery was originally scheduled for 12/31/03, and my OS wasn't going to do the joint surgery at that time because the odds were lower. I I am worried about recovery because I no longer have a husband to help me because we separated a month ago, but the truth is I know that he wouldn't have helped anyways because he is very angry, controlling, and abusive. When our son was born via C-section, he made me come home the next day with staples still in so that I could take care of the house, him, and the baby. AND of course all of our friends were and are his friends so now I don't have friends to help me. Luckily, my daughter is a mature 17 year old and is planning to help me, but she will also be helping me take care of her 5 year old brother and trying to maintain her school assignments. I am thankful to have her. I am also thankful for my wonderful boss who is planning to pick me up from the hospital and drive me home. I hope I don't drool or throw up in her car... that wouldn't look good on my next review My major concern is that my husband will try to use my surgery/recovery against me during the upcoming temporary custody proceedings. That would be a low blow, which I expect from him since he plays dirty. I just hope that he forgets that I am having surgery or thinks that I cancelled it so that he won't bother me during recovery, because I know that I need to remain positive for a quicker, easier recovery. I am so overwhelmed and preoccupied by the custody/divorce proceedings that I can't remember everything I need to stock up on for post-op. I know that I will need a white board,zip-n-squeeze bags, ice, stories recorded on tapes for my son, but what else do I need? Thanks!! ~ Swanson Eugene / Brownsville, Oregon
