Hi !My son has his helmet for day 2 today as well! My pedi said no way but the two plastics we went to said he was moderate. So we went for it. . . I with you on the regrets. It'll be tough but I think we have to remember that head shapes will impact their life, everytime they look in the mirror, everytime someone makes a mean comment. . . it may inconvience me at this point but I need to focus on the long term ;o)Be still and know I am God PsalmsPlagiocephaly From: tracyagee2003@...Date: Sun, 19 Apr 2009 01:49:15 +0000Subject: Son 2nd day with Doc Band

Hello,

My son is 6 months old. Yesterday he got a Doc Band. He has postional Plagiocephaly. He has a asymetery of 11.6. My peditrican does not think he needs a helmet. The neurosurgeron said he was a resonable canidate. His PT thought he needed it also. Now that he has it I am having regrets and wondering if we did the right thing. Did anyone else feel like this?

thank you. I am just sick over it. I am doing a little better today. What was your sons asymmetry? How old is your son? My pediatrician also said that my son does not need a helmet. But everyone else said he did. I would love to keep in touch with you since our children started wearing their doc bands at the same time. It is a big adjustment for everyone. But I keep trying to remind myself that this is temporary.

Hi,

My daughter is now in her 3rd day in the Doc band and I totally know how you feel. It's hard because I know deep down that 8 - 12 weeks is not a very long time, but right now it seems like she'll be in it forever.

Thank you. I hope it goes by fast. I question myself about the band everyday.

Me too. I just can't wait to get this over and done with so it can become a distant memory. Thankfully, my family and my friends have been very supportive and we've already decorated the helmet so it's really cute.
