<< My DS was on 2/16/01. I started out at 319.5 and had lost down to 229

but now have gained back to 234 and holding. It is not my TOM and I

am a bit concerned. I seem to be losing at a slower pace than other

post-ops. I'm about 5'8 " and would really like to get down to 150. I

had staretd walking 3 x week for 15 minutes but had to stop becuse my

knee swelled up and hurt like crazy. It is getting better so I plan

to start back next week. I am getting plenty of protein thru foods

and supplemtn. I am taking my vitamins and drinking water. What gives?

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Please understand, I am soooooo

thnakful for the weight I've lost but would hate to think this is it

(or close it IT).I still have 80 pounds to go.

I think this is pretty normal and it has happened to me. Each time it does,

I think 'oh, this is it! This is all the weight I'm going to lose and I'm

going to stabilize here!' But, invariably, I lose more (whew! I can say

that now because I'm down to 221 after hanging in the mid 220's and above for

quite awhile). I find that I gain anywhere from 2-5 lbs at the end of a

plateau (right before the losing starts up again). The only thing that isn't

giving is your body! That's the problem -- it's hanging on but will

eventually give up and you will lose again. :)

I have about 60 more lbs to lose (or even more -- that's just my personal

goal of 170), so I'm in the same boat. I love the weight I've lost -- I'm

grateful for it but I know I still need to lose quite a bit more! :)

all the best,
