But if you want to have some testing done, here is a lab with a good list of available tests, altho you do not have to use this specific lab. http://www.greatplainslaboratory.com/ Did you do a urine peptide test or RAST testing? My son is apraxic, ADHD, and according to the > neurologist OCD. He is extremly hyper and moody without medication. > We would like to get him off of his meds. My #1 son is ADD, but hyper is also a factor in many kids, either ADHD or autistic. For my ADD son, and also my autistic son, the hyperness is caused by high phenols, so you might want to begin with reducing and/or eliminating the high phenol foods. Here is my information on that. http://home.pacbell.net/cscomp/phenol.htm Also what do you do with a > child that refuses food (normal food), I will never be able to get > him to eat the gluten free. I think you should start with the casein part, and the phenols part. Work on that first, then look at the gluten free. You can begin to gradually introduce gluten free items over the next month or so. He will be six next month and weighs > only 30 lbs. Any other ideas on weight gain? Fats and oils, let him eat all the gfcf chips and fries he wants, plus meats etc. One thing to consider tho, low weight is associated with celiac disease, which would require gf, so I would definitely recommend you have your child tested for celiac as well. Here is more information on that. http://www.celiac.com/index.html Supplements maybe. > Any info would be appreciated and can be sent to cammiercater@a... > Thank you
Guest guest
--- Just a quick note- my son gained 20 # and grew a foot in the first six months on this diet he was hyper and wirey before- I think the glueten and caesin were stunting his grow - he went from 8 slim to 14 husky. That much weight worried me 6though and he was constantly hungry- partially due to risperidal, however this summer I discovered isnack cybersoy chips- in original, garlic and apple cinnamon, he loves them, lives on them, a 2 oz bag has 14 grams of protien, he literrally eats 2-4 bags a day plus some rice cereal with rice/soy milk, bananas, maybe pinapple, fresh picked blackberries, and homemande lemonaide with unprocessed sugar. I sometimes get some unsalted peas or beans and a fresh tomato into him but that is the extent of his diet. Scince the chips, he no longer wanders about demanding I'm hungry every time the ritilin wears off and has actually lost 5 pounds this summer. Thosev 14 huskys slip off now! The chips can be ordered on line- 12 for 13.95 at isnack.com if your interested. They are tastey and as crispy as potato chips-we are also on a corn free diet so we can not eat foods in veg. oil or w/table salt- yes there can be corn in table salt!!!!!We also avoid nitrates, and hydrogenated oils
Guest guest
HI, I too am at work. I can eat whatever. I crave cookies, potatoes, I guess all carbs. I'm in a 14 and want to be in a 10-12. I weighed 283 and now I'm at 175...I could stand to loose about 15 lbs more, however I just don't feel like putting any effort into it right now. Right now I'm in a size 12, and would like to be in a size 10. That would be just right for me. You mentioned that you have put on some weight back on. Guest guest
I live in MInnesota.......Buuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrr....LOL ! Anyways, I get real bored at work somedays so I decided that I would do my chattng here verses home. When I get home it's kind of hard with the hubby leaving for work, 2 boys ( 16and 8) 3 dogs, dinner, laundry...etc. So the carbs is your down fall...I love carbs and I hate to excersise. I love Subway !! When I'm at work I will buy a 12 incher and munch on it all through the afternoon. I have to say I still miss eating. I miss munching on rainy Sundays or making that great Sunday dinner (lots of spuds and gravy). I still think like a 283 lb person.
