My surgery as well as my husbands was done at UCLA...and the delays were worth the end result. Randy and I are very healthy! We stayed in this group, went to our classes, found what we needed for post surgery....and knew quite a bit about how we needed to live after WLS. Not only that, but it gave us a little more time to lose that dreaded ten percent! We went in knowing how to do things, not panicked and unprepared. This is a life changing event in your life, the anxiety will be more intense as the date gets closer. Trying to rush only adds to the anxiety. That is not to say that you should not keep your nose to the grindstone and be tenacious about your progress at Kaiser. Become a great journal keeper. Know when your appts are, what the next stage should be, how your lab results are doing, get all the pre-op requirements completed (Kaiser often drags their feet, and the squeeky wheel gets the grease).
