Guest guest
If you have been on SCD since 3/11, you can progress. The intro diet is only for a few days. Many have lost on intro initially, but if you start adding more foods this will stop. Kids with ASD are dairy free, but you can have scd cows milk yogurt and legal cheese if you tolerate it. For you, use the pecanbread stages as a general guide, but progress as you can tolerate it, since it was designed for children on the spectrum. PJ > > Hello, > I have been a member of the Pecanbread group, but am new to this group. My son and I just started SCD last week, he for ASD and me for long-standing Irritable Bowel Syndrome (loose stools, bloating, cramping, trouble gaining weight). I'm hoping someone can help me answer a few questions. > > We have both been constipated the last few days. I took Magnesium Sulfate (the same as Epsom Salts), following the dosage directions on the box and it worked. Is this legal? > > I have read Elaine's protocol for constipation on the website (muffins, vegetables, fruits, etc), but most of the foods are not OK for the intro diet. Are intro people supposed to follow this also? > > Is the diet protocol is any different for people with IBS vs. something more serious like Crohn's Disease or Ulcerative Colitis? I've read a couple posts that seem to suggest this. > > Also I'm losing weight, and I was slightly underweight to begin with. The constipation has caused my appetite to go down. Plus, I'm getting really tired of eating the same things all the time: eggs, turkey meatballs, hamburger patties, canned salmon, jello, chicken broth and just beginning to introduce Stage 1 foods. > > Any suggestions would be appreciated. > > Thank you, > > IBS > SCD since 3/11/10 >
