Guest guest
There are a lot of variables involved in this. I was never on a clear liquid diet and I was eating soft foods by day (scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, pastas etc.) I had upper and lower done and was loosely banded. Ask your OS what he recommends Marsha > > I recently read that after surgery you can only drink clear liquids > for a while ~ could someone tell me how long this is for? Guest guest
I was on a clear liquid diet for a 1 1/2 weeks. I had upper and lower on the 20th of December. He said that it was because of the anesthesia and that he didn't want milk like drinks because if you are not extremely diligent in cleaning your mouth the milk can cause an infection since there are open wounds in the mouth. I think a lot of this just depends on your surgeon. Boost makes a product called boost breeze that is similar to regular boost but it is fruit juice based. Not the best tasting stuff but when you are only allowed clear liquids you really need to make sure you are getting enough protein so that you can heal. > > > > I recently read that after surgery you can only drink clear liquids > > for a while ~ could someone tell me how long this is for?
