Guest guest
Hello to all, After enjoying a wonderful Mardi Gras two days ago, my braces were removed today . . . eight months and eight days after I had upper/lower surgery. Having the braces on wasn't really that bad. The only complaint I really had was with these two " buttons " that I had to have . . . one on an upper molar on the right and one on an upper molar on the left. These were used as anchors for the elastics that were used to move the molars outward. My tongue and I likened this experience to medieval torture. But now, needless to say, I am extremely happy that all the metal is gone and I am very pleased with the results. I never knew I could have such a nice smile. I definitely will wear my retainers as instructed. Fortunately, I have had an easy go of it . . . presurgery, surgery, and recovery and for these, I am very thankful. Other than some pesky numbness/tingling (which seems to be subsiding somewhat) in my lower left chin, things seem to be getting back to normal as each month passes. To those that would ask if I would do it all over again . . . the answer is yes!!! Good luck to all post and pre-ops and newbies out there.
