Guest guest
Maybe I am missing something here but it does not seem that they could just pull your doctor and have another one do the surgery unless you agreed to it. If so, why would she have agreed to have a surgeon who is not an experienced bariatric surgeon do it? If it were me I would postpone surgery until I could find another doctor. If they switched doctors without her agreement to do so, I think she would have a large lawsuit pending. Guest guest
Shirley- That is exactly what they did to me. I chose Dr. Welker as my surgeon, saw him the day of surgery, and found out weeks later that Dr. Welker did not do any part of my surgery, but that Dr. Deveney (clifford) did my surgery. According to Dr. Welker, there is something on the informed consent saying that Dr. Welker OR SOMEONE HE DESIGNATES will be doing the surgery. I guess that is why they can do that. -Sherry (Lake Marcel, WA) BPD/DS Feb. 2, 2001 self-pay 5'5 " / 304 pounds / 34 years old Lost 9 pounds in pre-op weight loss efforts Have lost 107 pounds since surgery!
